January
During this month, you can catch the tail-end of the Holiday celebrations at Disneyland Resort. Ring in the New Year and the lingering decor, treats and overlays that help commemorate winter holidays.
This is a popular time at the Resort since the holiday celebrations and New Year’s Eve fireworks are still at the Resort. At the end of January, Lunar New Year kicks off at Disneyland, offering limited-time parades, food and more.
February
Lunar New Year continues into the first couple of weeks of February so you can soak up the cultural celebrations nearly right up until Valentine’s Day. Once February 14 hits you’ll find love-themed overlays throughout the Resort.
March
The Disneyland Food and Wine Festival typically begins in March, and crowds can pick up because various schools start Spring Break vacations.
Be prepared for occasional rainy days, which are some of the best times to go to Disneyland! Many annual passholders avoid the Parks on rain days, making a little more room for those who are traveling to Disneyland from afar.
April
Be mindful of Spring Break vacations and higher attendance in the Resort. If you’re in Disneyland during April, you can still feast on flavors from California during the Food and Wine Festival. It typically wraps up mid-April before Spring Break trips are at their peak. Disneyland also usually offers some Easter-related festivities, including egg hunts and overlays.
May
On select dates throughout May, Grad Nites are celebrated in Disneyland. Look for more crowds during this time, especially with Memorial Day at the end of the month.
June
Grad Nites tend to continue into June, and Disneyland Resort will begin firework shows to kick off summer months. As schools let out, crowds might tend to be bigger beginning in June and continuing through the summer.
July
Did you know Disneyland Resort celebrates both the Fourth of July and its own birthday in July?! It is such a fun time to visit the Resort and enjoy parades, fireworks and limited-run shows (summer 2019 it’s Tale of the Lion King in Disney California Adventure Park).
August
Every other year, a huge Disney convention known as the D23 Expo is hosted in Disneyland. Check the Resort calendar to see if this applies to your visit! It can affect crowds and hotel reservations.
September
Halloween Time begins in early-to-mid-September each year. Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will transform with family-friendly themed overlays, and will offer seasonal treats and experiences to celebrate Halloween.
This is a hugely popular time of year, as guests love to celebrate Halloween with a Disney twist. Also beginning in September is a separately-ticketed Halloween party. Beginning in 2019, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will be hosted in Disney California Adventure Park September 17 – October 31.
October
Halloween Time is still in full-swing until October 31 each year. You’ll see Disney Characters in costume, and will likely encounter a number of Disney Villains throughout the Parks.
Rides and attractions will continue to offer limited-time overlays, such as the entire town of Radiator Springs turning into Radiator Screams. Enjoy seasonal food and music throughout the Resort, as well as the continuation of Oogie Boogie Bash until October 31.
November
Once Halloween Time wraps up, the Holidays at Disneyland begin mid-November. Festive overlays will replace all things spooky, and food offerings throughout the Parks will reflect the spirit of the season.
December
As Holidays at Disneyland hit their stride near the end of the month, Disneyland Resort is at one of its most festive times. This is such a magical time of year for many guests and they love to spend their holidays celebrating with Disney.
